Listserv Announcement Sent: 1-29-10 Clarkdale Sustainability Park Receives Letter of Support from Salt River Materials Group The Town of Clarkdale received a letter in support of the Clarkdale Sustainability Park this week from a valued community partner, Salt River Materials Group (SRMG). SRMG President/CEO Roger Smith and Vice President of Cement Operations Gregg St. Clair, noted that SRMG, and its owners, the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community, continue to support their neighboring communities and businesses within the state. They encouraged Clarkdale to continue with the Clarkdale Sustainability Park, and noted, “We firmly support the worthy and timely environmental and sustainability concepts the Town of Clarkdale is pursuing, and believe that all of us must work together to create lasting and positive economic and environmental impacts for Clarkdale, the Verde Valley and, indeed, for the entire State of Arizona.” SRMG is in the forefront of their industry when it comes to energy efficiency, sustainability and environmental stewardship. Their Phoenix Cement manufacturing facility near Clarkdale has continued to earn the coveted ENERGY STAR Award in 2007, 2008 and 2009, and is recognized as an ENERGY STAR Partner. SRMG established their Sustainability Initiative in 2006 and have a proven and sincere interest in managing resources well. SRMG’s seriousness about sustainable practices is well recognized, and the Town of Clarkdale is pleased to have their support for the Clarkdale Sustainability Park.
